NOMINATION AND APPOINTMENT TIMELINE
The following schedule may be used as a guide to the timing of important steps in the nomination and appointment process for Juniors in high school.
Beginning in January Member begins to receive
of Junior Year applications for nominations
to the service academies.
November 1 Deadline for receiving
of Senior Year applications.
November through December Interview by screening board
of Senior Year members.
September through January Academies provide periodic
of Senior Year applicant evaluations to Member
based on the evaluation of the
information self-reported by the
applicant.
October and November Academies send out early offers of
of Senior Year admission/appointment and Letters
of Assurance. Advance notice of
appointments will be given to
congressional offices by academies.
By 31 January Member submits names of nominees to
of Senior Year the appropriate agencies representing the academies.
By Late April Academies have offered the majority
of Senior Year of appointments.
May through June Academies offer additional
of Senior Year appointments to replace candidates who decline their appointments.
Late June or early July Newly appointed classes enter the
of Senior Year academies.
