Today Congressman Pat Tiberi (R-OH) met with local business and community leaders with the Genoa Township Business Association. Tiberi updated members on progress the House of Representatives has made on solutions that grow the economy and foster a better environment to create jobs.

“You may not always hear about it on cable news but the House is making progress on priorities for Ohioans and the American people,” said Tiberi. “We passed more bills in the first six months of this administration compared to the previous four. For example, we’ve advanced over a dozen jobs bills that cut Obama-era regulations that were holding back Ohio small businesses, employers, farmers and workers. Overall, these regulatory reforms will save Americans $3.7 billion in regulatory costs and 4.2 million hours in filing paperwork."

As a senior member of the Ways and Means Committee, Rep. Tiberi also highlighted that the Committee is undertaking an historic effort to overhaul the tax code for the first time in 31 years.

“Our number one goal for tax reform is to unlock economic growth here at home,” said Tiberi. “I appreciated this opportunity to meet with our local business leaders and employers so they could share how a simpler and fairer tax code will help them create jobs and boost wages for central Ohioans. As the Ways and Means Committee continues our work to deliver permanent, pro-growth tax reform this year, I’ll be keeping their priorities in mind.”

All month as he travels Ohio’s 12th District, Rep. Tiberi will also be sharing 31 reasons why Americans need tax reform. Follow along on Facebook & Twitter.
