From the Desk of Pat Tiberi | Tax Reform

President Donald Trump was in Missouri earlier this week, making the case for why America needs pro-growth tax reform. I agree—today’s broken tax code is a drag on our economy and it is time for a complete overhaul. Our goals for reform include:

  • Creating jobs and boosting paychecks nationwide by lowering tax rates across the board for American families and businesses.
  • Making the tax code fairer and simpler for everyone so you can file on a postcard.
  • Ending the maze of tax breaks and loopholes so that the tax code works for you—not Washington’s special interests.

I spent the August work period in the 12th District listening to and talking with Ohio families, workers and job creators about what reform will mean for them. As we work to put pen to paper, I will be keeping their priorities in mind so that we achieve reforms that help people like you save more of your hard earned dollars.

Have a wonderful Labor Day,

Helping More Ohioans Find Affordable Housing

I attended ribbon cutting ceremonies for new affordable housing units for people in Hebron and Delaware, Ohio. These were made possible with the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, a vital and successful tool that encourages the private sector to work with the government to invest in affordable housing communities. For years, I’ve been a champion of this credit and introduced a bipartisan bill in this Congress to strengthen it so that more Americans have a safe place to live and call home.
